An now for a special announcement....
JAROD and ANNA ARE GOING TO HAVE A BABY!!!
- Aunt Laura, Aunt Krissy, and Aunt Katie
On this rainy day, a rainy day with a dry basement (praise the Lord
), we're in the mood to post pictures from our Easter break.
Sarah let us borrow her tripod on Tuesday so we went to the park and took these pictures with Anna's camera...in our COLTS CHAMPION t-shirts.
Jarod and Anna got here late Sunday night and stayed until Wednesday morning. We had two days which included playing games, going to CiCi's Pizza, Fun Land, a walk through the mall..., and having ice cream while watching Hoodwinked. We also did a lot of talking..
The rest of the week we:
Played volleyball at the Y
Got the family letter sent out
Had dinner at the Martinos
Did the usual cooking and cleaning
Went to a guitar lesson
Did school...duh, yuck
Ran errands, complete with a snack at McDonalds
and...that's enough. We'll be back soon.
Now for our Easter pictures!
Hinton tradition.... "don't change! We have to take pictures first."
Yes, it snowed on Saturday. We had pretty blossoms with snow.
But it was all gone by Easter.
Nasia borrowed Dad's jacket
We had a nice dinner with lots and lotsa food. peerrfect!
This year the Hodaks were here to help us hide eggs. It was nice to have them over.
Younger kids hunting...
Waiting in the basement while the younger kids hide eggs for US!
We didn't color eggs until last night.
Jarod and Anna came up Sunday night for a couple days. We'll post some pictures later....you know us. ;o)
This song is a good one for Easter. It's from our Dad's record back in 1979! A favorite
Tell me the story of Easter...
Upon the cross of Jesus
Mine eyes at times can see
the very dying form of one
Who suffered there for me.
And from my smitten heart, with tears,
These wonders I confess:
The wonder of His glorious love,
And my unworthiness.
Now, try to tell me that this story isn't for everyone...
For God so loved the world (all mankind), that He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believith in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life.
Was it for crimes that I have done
He groaned upon the tree?
Amazing pity, grace unknown,
And love beyoned degree!
HAPPY EASTER from us 3 girls, to YOU!
The Quanns and us wanted to hang out yesterday so we got together at our house to powwow about what we would pick as our activity. It was our idea to walk in the old part of town and go in little shops and a bakery. We couldn't keep it quite that normal though so we added....
HATS -- tea hats! We stopped at their Aunt's house to pick them out.
We felt a little weird on the streets but we had fun and made people smile
)
We stopped at a cute bakery and got some desserts to share. Yeahhhhh....
Almond dusted creme cake, chocolate chip scone, brownie with cream cheese spread, and chocolate mousse.
Isn't it a pretty place?
Right after that, we posed.
Laura was a female musketeer...
We happened to find hats that perfectly matched our outfits
After we had been posing for a while (and Laura was getting bored), some police officers stopped and one got out to talk to us. He said because of our hats and large group, we were distracting drivers going by and that we needed to either move to a "less public area", or take off our hats. Katie had her face turned while she was trying to hold in her laughter (she wasn't doing a very good job), and the rest of us weren't sure if he was serious!! THEN because of our "disrespect" he starts writtin' out a ticket! It was actually just a warning but c'mon...then we looked at the back of it and it said...
April Fools! haha...
We went into a fancy dress shop where they also had some beautiful framed art.
And now, we will let you listen in on a random Sunday conversation -
Laura: So, what do you want to do with your life? I mean, we could get a project started and change the world...
Truman: Be President
Laura: Go on Strike (inside joke)
Truman: Be President. That's what I want to do.
Laura: Really? Well then you better get started. You'll have to be really smart to do that.
Truman: No, just good looking.
We leave you with some favorite Easter verses.
Here we sit at way too early in the morning..at least to be posting. Caleb and Matt are here too (wait, Matt just walked away)
We're submitting our "Family Dinner Night" video into a contest to win PRIZES!
We were rushing, rushing, RUSHING to try and get this done before the dead line at 11:59. We were praying (hey! He knows we need that new fridge!)...we were dissapointed when it wasn't gonna work...buuuut we kept our hopes up, and decided to enter anyway. We didn't want to quit, ya never know - maybe there would be a fluke. Oh, the reason we were rushing was because we didn't plan enough, and we couldn't get the video saved to the right size and type.
Alright, so along with that undying hope of ours, we kept saying "maybe they're in California...then it would be like 9:00 there!"
While we're trying another file type, Laura goes to check and see if all is in vain (as if that would stop us!).
What do we discover??! yes the contest ends at 11:59.59 PM, buuuut PT ! ! !
"THEY ARE IN CALIFORNIA!"
~haha, what do you know about that? MERRY CHRISTMAS!~
Anyway, all that to say...
Unless God answers our prayers, we don't have a chance.
Alright, it's late...we're posting about random. Goodnight..eventually...
"So, what is it that you guys do all day?"
Like duh, we play!
Everyday is always soo different but here's what happened on March 15th - an average Thursday.
We didn't get the camera out in time for the morning routine like breakfast, personal devotions, exercises, Xanga, and what not.
First event of the day: babysitting @ 9:30 for a ladies Bible study. Katie's telling the story of David (fighting the bear here! haha)
We babysit a bunch of twins at this church!
What a beautiful day! We took them outside to the playground.
It's lunch break when we get home. Katie did some meal clean up...whatever whatever, and is playing the piano.
Where's Krissy at lunch break? On Xanga
We don't always read together, but sometimes. Krissy got up to charge her batteries (for her camera) and take a picture of us.
Krissy stopped hangin' out with the study group up stairs to clean up lunch . All of us kids are on different teams who clean for different meals.
It's early afternoon and Laura's workin' on her book.
Katie is busy in her class. It was so nice, that they had school outside.
This is on our way home from Laura's guitar lesson. Holly is her teacher. Krissy went along just for the fun of it.
We had to stop for the train.
Right when Krissy and Laura got home, we opened a special package that was waiting for all 3 of us!! It was a late Valentine's gift/box with hershey kisses, cookies, gummy hearts, candy hearts, and an emergency chocolate bar! THANKS!!!
Then it was time for some errands. Mom came too - woo hoo! These are some special groceries....
It started pouring while we were out! Katie warned us it might happen when we parked far away from the Wal-Mart door.
When we got home we checked up on our MARCH MADNESS brackets!!
Katie's winning the whole thing, Laura's stinking up the room, and Krissy's somewhere near the bottom.
Sorting m&m's for our special St. Patrick's day cookies. There weren't enough green ones so she's trying to decide what color to put with it.
What's for supper?! A TON of meat balls!
We just started helping mom fix suppers. This week is Laura's turn.
Thursday night = DATE NIGHT! (not for us though...we have to stay home). Us kids make supper and hang out, it's lotsa fun.
Krissy's playin' SIMS, Laura's cookin' up a storm, and we're both listening to an Odyssey story on line. whitsend.com, it's awesome!
Katie is watching some of the madness
She's happily wrapped in a Colt's champion blanket.
After supper, it was time for those cookies with green (and yellow
) m&ms.
We all three worked on 'em. We sent some off to a friend today too.
* Y U M M Y *
While we were baking cookies, we did a uncommon activity - a craft! Birthday card for Grandpa, letters, notes, and a cool button/pin.
And there you have it, a journal of our day in pictures. haha, that was fun - for us anyway.
SHOUT OUT!!
To all you peoples who don't have Xanga's but still check out our site.
JUDY! (just talking about you today with another lady - you're so cool), Barb
, any of Dad's co-workers who get sent here, Becca (you should get a xanga and talk back), Meredith, Sharon & Shaun (love and miss you guys), and to the rest of you - let us know you're there and next time YOU too can have a "hi"
Alright, well Laura needs to go and help mom fix supper again, so it's time to wrap things up. We've had another eventful day that is ending different then planned, but good none the less - of course
