  • The Quanns and us wanted to hang out yesterday so we got together at our house to powwow about what we would pick as our activity.  It was our idea to walk in the old part of town and go in little shops and a bakery.  We couldn't keep it quite that normal though so we added....

    the group2

HATS -- tea hats! We stopped at their Aunt's house to pick them out.

    more shops in town

We felt a little weird on the streets but we had fun and made people smile :o )

    with dessert!

We stopped at a cute bakery and got some desserts to share.  Yeahhhhh....

Almond dusted creme cake, chocolate chip scone, brownie with cream cheese spread, and chocolate mousse.

    krissy's hat

    Isn't it a pretty place?

    having cake

    this one

    Right after that, we posed.

    black and white

    Laura was a female musketeer...

    good time pose

We happened to find hats that perfectly matched our outfits

After we had been posing for a while (and Laura was getting bored), some police officers stopped and one got out to talk to us.  He said because of our hats and large group, we were distracting drivers going by and that we needed to either move to a "less public area", or take off our hats.  Katie had her face turned while she was  trying to hold in her laughter (she wasn't doing a very good job), and the rest of us weren't sure if he was serious!!  THEN because of our "disrespect" he starts writtin' out a ticket!  It was actually just a warning but c'mon...then we looked at the back of it and it said...

    effects (effected)

    April Fools! haha...

    keep

We went into a fancy dress shop where they also had some beautiful framed art.

And now, we will let you listen in on a random Sunday conversation -

Laura:  So, what do you want to do with your life?  I mean, we could get a project started and change the world...

    Truman:  Be President

Laura:  Go on Strike (inside joke)

Truman:  Be President.  That's what I want to do.

Laura:  Really?  Well then you better get started.  You'll have to be really smart to do that.

    Truman:  No, just good looking.

We leave you with some favorite Easter verses.

    1 Peter 2:21-25

For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. He committed no sin; no guile was found on his lips. When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten; but he trusted to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.

  • I like the hats and the poses but I do have say that I love the policeman's sense of humor!  On one April Fool's Day I was having lunch with my kids and when Adrian went up to the buffet bar, I got serious and told my son. . .I was pregnant!  The look on his face was priceless!!!!  He said he would have believed I had become a buddhist quicker than what I told him!        On a more serious note, thanks so much for the scripture in your post.  "The Shepherd and Guardian of your souls" lept out at me this a.m. as a crucial reminder--so very needful at this time.  Thanks for being sensitive to the Lord!  Love & blessings, Momma D

  • That is hilarious!!! you guys have the best times! hahaha

  • Ok is the whole ticket part of a joke? Did you guys make that up or was it true that the officer did that as a joke ? WOW HILARIOUS!!! I would think that us wearing skirts on a group stroll to downtown Hinsdale would cause equal shock! Sooo creative you girls are and those pastries look amazing. You must live in a cute little town.

  • I never heard about the April fools joke.... That is so funny!!!! I love it. good pics

  • Josh mentioned that he saw you guys walking downtown and thought, "That's something that the Quanns would do." Then he realized it WAS them, and you.
