Girls Retreat
We traveled with the Danahers in the most AWeSOme 15 pAssenGer VAN
Amelia Krissy
Every team leader had a table to decorate in a certain themed color. Laura's color was PINK
She of course threw in some ice cream...
Holly playin' the drum thing. She had to leave early *sniff sniff* but was a worship leader while she was there.
Us 3 girls were in charge of the games for the retreat!! Whoohoo. Here we're playin' a game we learned at CCYC.
We had some awesome games but because we were so involved in them, we don't have any pictures...we'll get some of those later from a friend or something.
Now time for some of the last night pictures...the moms always take the last night to put together a special evening for the girls.
Katie with her team leader, Anna. Laura with a girl on her team, Katie
haha
See the gloves Laura's wearin'? Those were a gift to all the girls on the first night. The lady who spoke talked about how a glove can't do anything without a hand inside. The gloves are a reminder to us that God must fill us for anything to be accomplished.
We had a BEAUTIFUL banquet table with the most yummy yummy food! The theme was WARRIOR PRINCESS...and we just happened to find our Knight in Shinning Armor
After the dinner, a special ceremony, and worship time, we had some colonial dancing! It was a TON of fun and such a work out! This is us having our dessert.
The ever present snack table!
There were so many butterflies around there...
The theme for this retreat was Freedom in Christ. It was a powerful few days and so many girls were able to recognize and renounce lies while putting truth in it's place.
Most of the team leaders had some testimonies that they were asked to share in different sessions, and so Laura was praying a lot about that. A lot of girls said they were helped by her testimony on design!! Just praise to God for the things he showed to us, and the way He blessed our time there. The whole retreat went so well and we were so happy that Emilee came with us!
Galatians 5:13 For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
Appalachian Youth Camp
Here's our BIG group of cousins!! Jonathan didn't actually attend (loser), he just showed up one night.
Traveling to Amy's house on Sunday night
Amy (our old piano player from church) lives near the camp grounds so us 3 girls got to spend Sunday night at her place. We had a great time, got to meet her man, ate unhealthy food, and she took us out for breakfast - THANKS AMY! We had a great time!!
Annie felt sick and wasn't lookin' so good after registration, so we prayed for her to get well and BAM - she was! Thanks God
This year, while everyone was waiting for the "big time" to start, they had some party games. This year was the camps 25th birthday, so everything was themed around that.

If you got a ring around the pop can, you got to KEEP IT!
The alumni taking the freshman on a tour. It was Truman, Hannah, and Anne Marie's first year.
Snow Cone Queen
These are 2 of Elizabeth's (our cousin) kids.
One night there was an emergency that involved Nasia, a spider bite, and a trip to the ER. Laura was one who had to leave so Katie and Emilee filled in with the snow cones!
We play softball and volleyball everyday.
Katie's team...
These are some friends that we met at CCYC (the last camp we were at). They're lotsa fun! Here we are at one of the afterglows. It was an All-Star softball game.
Elizabeth got to come to camp this year...kinda like old times.
It was fun to be able to see Randy and Lawrence (too bad he's not in this picture) this year at camp!!
Laura's catchin' for the Stiffs team, and Katie's battin' for the Stars
Cheerin' us on!
We're watchin' the guys Stars vs. Stiffs game now
We had a lot of fun hangin' out with the Cessna guys. Rick & Mike.
The banquet was a big birthday party!! Laura was a dorm master and so she had to "sign off" on everyones banquet passes who stayed in her dorm.
Laura: I had prayed that I would be a help and example at camp and not just be attending and trying to have fun. God really answered my prayer by giving me a big responsibility up in those dorms! I was over 70 girls *shew* I was happy to help!
Gotta have clowns at a birthday party!
Our FUN table!
It was a competition...
Brenton and Steve were on Katie's team and sat with us at the party.
Chillin'
Hi Isaac
Retrieving a frisbee from the roof and watching card tricks. They were really cool!
We had beautiful drives there and back. We even had a rainbow!
"In 1984, President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day. He recognized ice cream as a fun and nutritious food that is enjoyed by a full 90% of the nation's population. In the proclamation, President Reagan called for all people of the United States to observe these events with 'appropriate ceremonies and activities.' "
Dig in
We also had some fun games! Like ImaginIff...
..Pool, ping-pong, and foosball...
..And Family Feud!!
Carolina Christain Youth Camp
Our friend Reuben invited us to a youth camp in North Carolina that he helped start a while ago and this year we were finally able to make it! We aren't going to try to tell you about everything because that would be too hard, but we thought you might enjoy seeing the pictures...or at least we will.
Each team had to come up with a "trophy"
We played all kinds of games all kinds of ways! Katie did awesome at this one
Here's some of Krissy & Nasia's team doing some quizzing
Here's our friend Reuben Rinker and his family. We got to meet Jennifer and Kallie - they're GREAT!!
We're ready to head to the banquet! The theme was purity and so everyone was wearing white. We had a great time at our table...all kinds of cool peoples sitting with us!
We hung out and played some volleyball for a while after most everyone else had left.
Daniel, Laura, Jennifer
Penn View Guys -- Greg, Kent, Joe, & Joe David. Kent was Krissy's head coach, Joe David was Laura's, and Greg was Katie's assistant coach.
We had to get a jump from the Rinkers
haha.
The camp was amazing and we would recommend it to everyone! The minister they had was excellent. Every service was filled with the Lord's presence. Testimonies, worship time, alter calls, music specials, and choir - everything was great. The president (Scott Blackman) really has a heart for the campers and has a real ministry there. They also do a great job of keeping the price down for campers, which is a good bonus! *whoohoo* We hope that our schedules will allow us to go again!
Signed,
Happy Campers
Our Happy 4th of July
After a red, white, and blue breakfast, we went to the Rappahannock River Raft Race downtown. We had never done that before and we had a fun time watching.
Afterwards we walked around our historic town and looked at all the tents and activities going on. Then it was time to visit our good friend Carl...
On the way to a Battlefield Dad took us to.
Next was pool time. The boys played "baseball" after the rest of us got out to work on food.
This is our favorite pot. We like to put good ol' American baked beans in it.
Those are the cheapest fireworks - snakes.
Gregory's birthday was on the 1st. He turned 11 years old! Happy Birthday Buddy!!
We were invited to a neighbors house to watch fireworks.
Home of the free, because of the brave.
