So, we've been somewhat negligent on posting, but hey - considering how often most people check this thing, it's not that big of a deal
ha. Here's our effort to catch you up on June (while not flooding you with too many pictures this time...)
When we got back from Nashville, we had only a few days before it was Matthew's Birthday!
The 6th. We had a nice day, of not too much activity. We did some birthday shopping in the morning, and us 3 girls took all the rest of the kids out to Dairy Queen in the afternoon - just for the fun of it...and of course, it was!
Gregory's baseball games are always really fun to go watch! He was the only one from our family playing this year so he had a really big cheering section.
We do pride ourselves on being the loudest there. haha... His team didn't quite make it to the championship this year, but it was a good season anyway. He still has one more year to play and we're lookin' forward to it!
Amie's Graduation party was on the 13th. Amie is such an awesome person who had such an awesome graduation party with volleyball, a barbecue, and great company!
Drew Glick came to visit us for the weekend of the 14th. He was just doing some traveling/visiting to some friends on his motorcycle before leaving for his missions trip to Africa! We were one of those stops
We had a good time & Steve Sarver came down with him for one afternoon/evening too. We did all kinds of things like...watch one of Greg's baseball games, hang around the house, go to a Snow White play (whoo hoo! We love plays!), shop, tour DC, celebrate Fathers Day & go to church, fix our flat tire, and go to the park! He was planning on leaving Monday night, but because of weather (remember the motorcycle?), he ended up leaving Tuesday afternoon instead.
We are blessed with such a wonderful Dad. He has so many qualities that are needed to be a good father, and he does a great job with 10 kids! At church we brought some balloons and matchbox cars for all the dad's at our church.
When we got home, we had some relaxing time and then got to partying. We gave Dad a "movie package" and a new dress shirt. Last sunday, all us kids sang a song for him at church as part of our gift, too. That song always makes him cry. haha.
Next was Katie's 18th birthday on the 17th! It was a fun Katie day! In the morning Katie went out to breakfast at IHOP with Dad (a family tradition to go to breakfast with dad for our birthday). In the afternoon we went to the park and threw the frisbee and the football, and hit the softball around, etc. In the late afternoon before supper we rented How to Eat Fried Worms and all of us kids had a great time watching it!! The day was filled with fun and the evening was great with a classic family party with her choice of supper (caesar salad), presents!!, and then cake and ice cream!!
One night, us girls were doing whatever, cleaning the house, and then planned on meeting up with some friends... ANYWAY! We saw that Nasia wasn't in the best of moods, and we could tell she didn't really want us to leave (they never want us to go..haha!), so we decided to cancel meeting up with our friends, and instead take Nasia & Hannah out for a little sister time
We had a great time, with good conversation, and plenty of fun & yum! First we went to McDonalds so that we could actually get full...because then we wanted to go to Outback Steakhouse. We went there for the more fun part! We got two desserts and a Bloomin' Onion to share. Good times. And it was topped off with some friendly ducks...
Jarod, Anna, and Ezekiel came to visit for a week!! We were sooo excited to see them all again, especially since Zeke grows so fast we want to make sure we see him like every...3 months? Yeah. That's sounds really good to us. Zeke is making a lot more noise now and is looking around and laughing, so he caused a lot of entertainment for us!
Some of the different things we did while they were here are: played basketball at the park, played scum and had homemade ice cream, watched Emperors New Groove, played video games, played outside in Zeke's new pool
, and talked. *smiles* Jarod got sick while he was here, but he got over it soon enough. We had a great time!
At Katie's graduation party we: played croquet, ping-pong, pool, foosball, video games, battleball board game, and played with babies
We also did plenty of talking of course! It was an evening open house that started at 6:00 and we hung out until around midnight. Dad gave Katie a very nice blessing and prayer with a time for others to say how much they appreciated Katie. We didn't have a meal but some snacks and a dessert table including a yummy carrot cake made by mom. A very nice evening indeed!!
Dad's birthday was just last night. He turned 54...hope he doesn't mind us saying that. I don't think he will
It was an especially happy day that God worked out because he found that a BIG project he had been working on at work, had reached it's goal! Dad had been working on getting 10 states to sign a certain bill and yesterday Florida (I think it was) was #10! A day for celebrating indeed (shoot, we just said "indeed up their..)! The evening was a simple party with a delicious supper, a few presents, cake, and ice cream. Us kids got him money to renew his subscription to Rush 24/7 (he LOVEs that), and a casual shirt. Mom got him some kind of memory card for his "phone". He's having fun with that..loading new songs onto it and all
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD, WE LOVE YOU!!
All of us 5 sisters bought a tent a while back with our Christmas money from Grandpa. We had plans of going camping the the spring time, but never got around to it because of rain, or HEAT, or whatever reason. We really wanted to set it up to see how it would look and stuff, so we decided to just set it up in the backyard. So, we did. Us girls camped out there with such things as UNO, chips, zebra cakes, nerds, and m&ms! Our tent has a big screen for the roof so we laid down and looked at stars while discussing important things like Mr. Knightly, Gilbert Blithe, and Mr. Darcy.
It was a great time!!
