Rebecca & Corey's Wedding
The day after CCYC, we went off to help with the
Girl's Retreat
The girls started arriving on Sunday afternoon and immediately started having fun!! We decorated cups and bags and had supper before the first session. One girl got saved that night! :) *big smiles*
The weather was so beautiful so one day we decided to have worship outside. It was really special. Laura led a talk afterwards out there on sibling relationships. Her talk was part of the breakout sessions that day.
Each team had a themed color and made posters to represent them. Our overlying theme: "The Road Less Traveled". The whole place was decorated with road signs and pictures relating to traveling.
We didn't get any pictures of games and crafts because we were so busy having fun with them! We were in charge of the games again this year which included: Flip-Flop Tag (which actually ended up being more of a war...), Food Eating Relay, Waterballoon Volleyball, & a Dress-up Relay.
On Tuesday, after a HUGE shaving cream war and jumping in the pond, we all got cleaned up for a special dinner put on by the moms. All the girls in one spot getting dressed up is a whole lotta crazy fun!!
This is Katie's team. This was her first year to lead a team and she really liked it! God used it to make her trust Him for all the things she needed going into it, and it was a blessing to be able to see God work in the lives of the girls on her team.
Our cousins, Emilee and Anne, got to come with us this year! Emilee had come with us last year but it was Nasia, Hannah, and Anne's first time. We're glad they came!!
After our very fancy catered dinner and session, we did colonial dancing (and not so colonial, too...)
This Girls Retreat is always a lot of fun along with some really good sessions and praise time. God always does awesome things every year and we're happy we get to be a part of it! If you've never gone before, we invite you to come with us next year!! If you have been to this retreat, we have no doubts you want to go again...
AND now what you've all been waiting for...
our next July adventure!!
Carolina Christian Youth Camp
We had a photo scavenger hunt kinda thing...this is Katie's team doing a "how many Bible College students in one picture can you get?" The ones with the Bible's are from different colleges..
Getting ready for some great activity...
Every morning starts with taking off your shoes!! actually, it's the beginning of an amazing obstacle course
There's all kinds of things you gotta do. One of them was put all the books of the Bible in order! Laura's morning job was to check 'em on it.
The end of the course!
First year for Truman & Greg (hannah too, but she's not in this picture- haha)
One way of earning points is to memorize Scripture. WAY TO GO TRUMAN!
Sports & Bible questions all afternoon.
fun fun fun
The last day there is a HUGE relay race along with some other smaller ones - it's really fun!
*hurry!* *run!* *faster!* *WHOOO-HOOOO*
The banquet and awards dinner was a Spanish theme.
It was very yummy! We even had some authentic Mexicans fix us authentic Mexican food...on authentic Mexican paper plates! (ok, maybe not the last one)
CCYC is one of the hardest, busiest types of youth camps...but we like it that way!!! They do a great job coming up with interesting and new things, along with keeping the traditional We have such a fun time, and it's always so encouraging to see all the kids making a change during services. We saw people accept Christ as their Savior, give everything to Him, and make strong resolve to go home and keep it up!
*three cheers for youth camp!*
